Gary Oldman, throughout his career, has always stood out for the versatility of the roles he has taken on, from Sirius Black in the Harry Potter film series, to Commissioner Gordon in Christopher Nolan’s The Dark Knight trilogy, and finally Winston Churchill in Darkest Hour, a role that earned him the Academy Award for Best Actor.
He now returns as the shrewd and charismatic secret agent Jackson Lamb in the sixth season of Slow Horses, available on Apple TV+ from September 16, 2026.
Plot and cast
Slow Horses is a British spy series. It follows a group of MI5 agents who have ended up at the so-called Slough House, a sort of dumping ground for agents considered failures or troublemakers, led by the cynical Jackson Lamb.
In the sixth season, Slow Horses picks up the consequences of the events of the fifth season, maintaining a direct connection with what happened previously.
Some unresolved situations return to influence the dynamics between the characters, while the agents of Slough House find themselves facing a new threat that puts their relationships and their way of working to the test.
The season therefore maintains a connection with the previous one, while developing a new and self-contained story, with Jackson Lamb and his team once again at the center of the action.
The season consists of six episodes, which will be released weekly on Apple TV.
Alongside Gary Oldman, the cast includes Jack Lowden (River Cartwright), Kristin Scott Thomas (Diana Taverner), Saskia Reeves (Catherine Standish), Rosalind Eleazar (Louisa Guy), Christopher Chung (Roddy Ho), Aimee-Ffion Edwards (Shirley Dander) and Jonathan Pryce (David Cartwright).
