ALIEN: PIANETA TERRA – St. 1 ep. 5 In space, no one

When the mysterious research vessel USCSS Maginot crashes on Earth, Wendy and a makeshift team of soldiers make a deadly discovery that confronts them with the greatest threat the planet has ever faced.

For our third Midnight Screening, we have chosen the fifth episode of the series because it serves as a flashback, revealing what happened aboard the USCSS Maginot before it crashed to Earth. A largely self-contained episode, it offers a fascinating variation on the original Alien template established by Sir Ridley Scott, paying homage from its very title to the iconic tagline of the 1979 film: “In space, no one can hear you scream.” Directed by the series’ showrunner Noah Hawley (Fargo, Legion), the episode is far from a remake. Instead, it enriches the story with mystery through the new deadly alien species introduced in the series, as well as the character of the loyal Weyland-Yutani android, played by English actor Babou Ceesay (Guerrilla, Into the Badlands).
