Based on Pavel Kohout’s novel The Widow Killer, this German-Austrian period thriller boasts lavish production values and an atmosphere reminiscent of Babylon Berlin and The Third Man, particularly in its evocative use of noir lighting. The two lead roles are played by prominent faces of contemporary German television: Jonas Nay (Deutschland 83) and Nicholas Ofczarek (Pagan Peak).
In Nazi-occupied Prague, 1945, Czech inspectors Beran and Morava hunt a ritualistic serial killer alongside suspicious German detective Buback. As the city erupts in uprising, the investigation spirals into a harrowing struggle for justice, shifting from a manhunt to a profound exploration of guilt, revenge and retribution.
