Fast & Furious franchise is officially heading further into television. Vin Diesel has confirmed that four TV series set within the action saga’s universe are currently in development, marking a major expansion for one of the most successful blockbuster franchises of the last two decades.
The announcement was made during NBCUniversal’s latest television presentation, where the actor revealed that Peacock is actively working on multiple projects connected to the franchise. Diesel will also serve as executive producer alongside several longtime collaborators tied to the film series.
The Fast & Furious universe keeps growing
Upcoming shows aim to broaden the franchise beyond the main films, exploring new stories, characters and locations connected to the larger Fast & Furious world. Over the years, the saga has built a massive global fanbase, turning themes like loyalty and family into some of its defining elements.
According to early details, audience interest played a major role in pushing the studio toward a larger television expansion. The new series could focus on secondary storylines or introduce entirely new characters while preserving the franchise’s signature mix of large-scale action, international settings and ensemble dynamics.
Vin Diesel joins the executive production team
Alongside Vin Diesel, producers Neal Moritz, Chris Morgan, Pavun Shetty and Jeff Kirschenbaum are also attached to the projects. All of them have previously worked on different chapters of the cinematic saga, suggesting a strong connection between the upcoming series and the established universe of the films.
At the moment, official plot details and casting information remain under wraps. However, the move into television signals a significant new direction for the franchise, which is also continuing its cinematic future. The next Fast & Furious movie is currently scheduled for release in 2028.
