Ted Lasso Season 4: Apple TV+ Series Returns with a New Challenge

Apple TV+ has released the first official teaser for Ted Lasso Season 4, also revealing the premiere date for the new chapter. The series will return on August 5, 2026, with new episodes released weekly every Wednesday.

Following the success of previous seasons, the show comes back with a new installment that introduces a significant shift in its narrative direction, while preserving the tone that made it one of the platform’s most recognizable titles.

A new challenge: women’s football

Season 4 brings Ted Lasso back to Richmond, but with a completely different role. This time, he will be coaching a women’s second-division football team. The teaser hints at a tone that balances humor with more direct and grounded situations, staying true to the series’ identity while opening up new narrative tensions.

The story develops around this new sporting context, where Ted must adapt to unfamiliar dynamics and face a professional challenge that marks a clear departure from previous seasons.

Cast: returning faces and new additions

The main cast includes returning stars Jason Sudeikis, Hannah Waddingham, Brett Goldstein, Juno Temple, Brendan Hunt, and Jeremy Swift, all reprising their roles.

Alongside them, the new season introduces several fresh faces, including Tanya Reynolds, Jude Mack, Faye Marsay, Rex Hayes, Aisling Sharkey, Abbie Hern, and Grant Feely. The latter takes on the role of Henry, Ted’s son, now older and more actively involved in the world of football.

Production and development

The series continues under the creative leadership of Jason Sudeikis, who also serves as executive producer alongside Brendan Hunt, Joe Kelly, and Bill Wrubel. Among the new additions to the production team is Jack Burditt, joining as executive producer.

The writing team includes Brett Goldstein, Leanne Bowen, Phoebe Walsh, and other creatives already involved in previous seasons, ensuring continuity while supporting the evolution of the story
