A new collaboration between Disney+ and The Pokémon Company International has just been announced, with a global distribution agreement on the streaming platform to introduce new content from one of the world’s most popular and long-running franchises. Coming exclusively to Disney+ in 2027.
One of the first titles announced is the stop-motion TV series “Racconti Pokémon – Le Disavventure di Sirfetch’d e Pichu” (“Pokémon Tales: The Misadventures of Sirfetch’d and Pichu”), produced by the British animation studio Aardman. At the heart of the series are Sirfetch’d and Pichu, united in an extraordinary adventure across the Galar region on a mission to protect the Pokémon they encounter along the way. Between unexpected misfortunes, dangers, and new alliances, their bond grows stronger with every adventure, in a journey full of discovery and laughter.
With the introduction of this new Pokémon content, an entirely new world opens up for those who have played or followed the franchise their whole lives, taking on a lighter, more playful form that encourages us to see well-known characters from a whole new perspective.
With this agreement, Disney+ is set to further expand its family content catalog, offering Pokémon fans of all ages a new chapter to discover starting in 2027.
