Netflix has released the first official image from the set of Wednesday Season 3, offering fans an early glimpse of the upcoming chapter of the hit series created by Tim Burton. Shared across the platform’s social channels, the photo shows Wednesday Addams, played by Jenna Ortega, in an unusual situation compared to previous seasons, strongly hinting at a shift in setting.
In the image, Wednesday stands alongside Thing in front of the Eiffel Tower. The caption accompanying the post – “From Paris, with dread.” – has further deepened the dark tone, sparking speculation and theories among fans about the direction of the new season.
Filming Locations: Ireland and Paris
The new season continues to follow Wednesday Addams’ adventures at Nevermore Academy, while expanding into new and unexpected European locations. Filming for Season 3 is currently underway in Ireland, which serves as the main production hub. However, the inclusion of Paris suggests that the storyline will extend beyond the academy setting.
Narratively, the series is expected to continue following Wednesday as she faces new mysteries and threats, while also maintaining continuity with previous events. The European journey could also connect to returning characters, opening the door to new dynamics and developments within the story.
Although the exact narrative role of these locations has not yet been confirmed, Paris in particular may mark a significant evolution in Wednesday’s journey, broadening the scope of the series.
Cast and New Additions
The third season brings back much of the main cast. Jenna Ortega reprises her role as Wednesday Addams, alongside Catherine Zeta-Jones and Luis Guzmán as Morticia and Gomez Addams.
Several new cast members have also been announced in recent weeks by Netflix, including Lena Headey (Game of Thrones), Andrew McCarthy, and James Lance, who will appear as guest stars. They join previously confirmed additions such as Eva Green, Winona Ryder, and others.
Release Date
Production on Wednesday Season 3 is currently ongoing and will continue over the coming months. Given the production timeline, the new season is not expected to premiere before 2027.
With this new chapter, the series aims to expand its narrative universe while preserving the core elements that made it a global success, including mystery, dark humor, and character-driven storytelling.
