Doc – In Your Hands: US remake on Prime Video and season 4 updates

The success of Doc – In Your Hands continues to grow internationally, also thanks to its US remake Doc. The series has been available on Prime Video since March 31, offering a new take on the medical drama that originally gained popularity in Italy with Luca Argentero.

Developed by Barbie Kligman for FOX, the show reimagines the story through Dr. Amy Larsen, played by Molly Parker. After a car accident, she loses eight years of memory. She must rebuild both her personal life and her career, navigating relationships that have changed and a professional role she no longer recognizes.

The project is part of an already established production path. Following its debut and solid performance, the series was renewed for a third season in March 2025. The format remains extensive, with 22-episode seasons, a structure that is increasingly rare in today’s TV landscape.

What changes in the US remake of Doc

Compared to Doc – In Your Hands, the US version introduces several key differences. The most notable is the shift to a female lead, offering a new perspective on the central character. The narrative structure also changes, with a faster pace and a more frequent use of flashbacks.

At the same time, the core premise remains intact. Memory loss and identity reconstruction still drive the story. The remake reshapes these elements to fit a different production model and an international audience.

Doc – In Your Hands season 4: latest updates

Meanwhile, the original Italian series continues its run. Doc – In Your Hands will return on Rai 1 in autumn 2026. Filming wrapped in early 2026.

The new season will pick up from the events of the previous finale. Andrea Fanti will face new professional and personal challenges. After an initial plan for an earlier release, the series is now confirmed for September 2026 as one of Rai’s flagship titles.
