Eleven years after its last season, I Cesaroni – The Return is set to premiere on Canale 5. The new season will debut on April 13 in prime time, with six nights and a total of twelve episodes. Produced by Publispei, the series marks the comeback of one of the most popular Italian TV dramas, which has built a broad and loyal audience over the years.
The story resumes with a significant time jump, showing the characters facing new responsibilities. Giulio is now approaching retirement and begins to reflect on the future of the family-run wine shop, while Marco navigates a new phase in his personal life. Around them, relationships have evolved, balancing familiar dynamics with new characters set to reshape the group’s equilibrium. While the series retains its signature family tone, it also introduces more mature narrative elements.
Returning cast members include Claudio Amendola, who also directs, alongside Matteo Branciamore, Ludovico Fremont, Elda Alvigini, Niccolò Centioni and Federico Russo. New additions to the cast include Lucia Ocone, Ricky Memphis and Marta Filippi, contributing to the renewal of the series’ narrative world. The new season will also carry the memory of Antonello Fassari, a central figure in the original story.
I Cesaroni – The Return was first presented at the Italian Global Series Festival 2025, where exclusive footage from the new season officially opened the festival on June 21 in Rimini. During the event, the original cast and new additions introduced the project, offering early insights into the evolution of the series and its long-awaited comeback. The presentation marked a symbolic new beginning for one of Italy’s most iconic TV dramas.
