The Law According to Lidia Poët Returns on Netflix: Trailer and Final Season Details

The final chapter of The Law According to Lidia Poët is on its way. Netflix has released the official trailer for the third and final season of the Italian series starring Matilda De Angelis, confirming its debut on the platform on April 15. The period drama, inspired by the story of Italy’s first female lawyer, is set to conclude with six new episodes.

Returning to the cast alongside De Angelis are Eduardo Scarpetta, Gianmarco Saurino, Pier Luigi Pasino and Sara Lazzaro. New additions include Liliana Bottone and Ninni Bruschetta. The series is produced by Matteo Rovere for Groenlandia and created and written by Guido Iuculano and Davide Orsini, with direction by Letizia Lamartire, Pippo Mezzapesa and Jacopo Bonvicini.

The story resumes in April 1887: while Enrico Poët is now involved in politics, working to advance a law that would allow Lidia to practice as a lawyer, she continues to navigate both her personal life and her legal battles. At the center of the season is a high-profile murder trial that captures public attention: the defendant is Grazia Fontana, Lidia’s closest friend, accused of killing her husband and claiming self-defense.

The new episodes revolve around a tense courtroom clash with far-reaching consequences for all involved. Political dynamics, public pressure and increasingly complicated personal relationships intertwine, as the case becomes emblematic of broader issues surrounding justice, morality and the role of women in society at the time.
